North Central State College is committed to providing an environment that emphasizes the dignity and worth of every member of its community and is free from harassment and discrimination based upon race, color, religion, national origin, creed, service in the uniformed services (as defined in state and federal law), veteran status, sex, age, political ideas, marital or family status, pregnancy, physical or mental disability, genetic information, gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation. - Ohio’s Senate Bill 126, also referred to as Collin’s Law in honor of Collin Wiant, is about an 18-year-old man who died in a hazing incident in 2018. The law requires each public and private institution of higher education in Ohio to adopt an anti-hazing policy (PDF) and publish it on its website. This includes a requirement to make anti-hazing education available to all incoming students. Further, any student taking part in a campus-based organization must go through this training.
- NC State believes hazing has no place in higher education and encourages all members of our community to report any instances of hazing they witness, have knowledge of, or suspect to law enforcement and to the College through this form. The College prohibits hazing as part of its Student Code of Conduct and will investigate and respond to all reports of hazing it receives.
