Welcome to Career Development Services!
Career Development Services provides a
range of support for both students and alumni:
- One-to-one career exploration
- Resume assistance and cover letter writing
- Job search and career readiness training (interviewing, soft skills training, etc.)
- Training workshops (resume-writing, LinkedIn, appropriate business/interview attire, etc.)
- Job Fairs and other events with employers.

Resume/Cover Letter Development
Please feel free to email a rough draft of your resume and cover letter for review. In addition, a library of reference guides for completing a successful resume and cover letter can be found below.
Interviewing/Soft Skills Techniques
Performing a mock interview is a great way to practice and improve interviewing skills. It also helps with understanding the importance of soft-skills, and how to effectively highlight them during the interview process. Schedule an appointment for your mock interview today! Individualized Career Exploration
A career assessment is a great way to help with identifying your interests, skills, and values in order to match them up with potential careers. Feel free to take a career assessment using our Career Coach tool. It is also a great tool for identifying job market information and open positions.
The Career Pathway Coordinator is available to assist with reviewing your individual assessment results, or to explore career options.

College Central Network, opens in a new window (CCN) provides access to local and national job postings, a resume builder, and other tools to brush up on job seeking skills, such as cover letter writing and interview preparation. CCN is a community job board, connecting NC State students & alumni to local employers. We have hundreds of local job listings as well as a search engine with over 500,000 jobs available nationwide.
