Graduation

To receive your diploma or certificate, you must complete a petition to graduate. A non-refundable $35 fee is also due at the time of submission, either by paying through your MyNC account or by contacting the Cashier’s Office at 419-755-4722. Any petition received without payment will be deleted, and students will have to reapply before their petition will be considered.

North Central State College is now using a rolling application deadline. Students may petition to graduate at any point upon completion of their degree or certificate. If you are planning to attend the commencement ceremony held at the end of the Spring Semester, your application must be received by 3/1 of the calendar year in which you intend to graduate. Students applying after March 1st can still have their degree or certificate conferred for the Spring semester, but will be unable to attend the commencement ceremony of the following year.

Students whose requests are denied must re-petition in a subsequent semester when academic requirements are met.

Petitions are not reviewed immediately upon the college receiving them. Student files will not be reviewed by the Registrar or the appropriate Dean until after the midpoint of the term. You will be notified when the review has begun, as well as given instructions on the rest of the graduation process.

All curriculum requirements must be completed or in progress by the last day of the semester in which you intend to graduate.

North Central State utilizes Parchment for diploma distribution. Your degree will be mailed directly from Parchment beginning 6 weeks after the end of the term. Please note that any sort of fee hold or instances where grades have not been submitted will delay delivery until resolved.

Caps and gowns will be worn for the May ceremony. Directions on obtaining your cap, gown, and, if eligible, honor cords, will be sent out as we near the commencement ceremony.
