Personal Counseling
Phone Apps
This is a FREE service to currently enrolled North Central State students that provides evaluation, brief counseling, and referral services for a wide range of problems and/or concerns. Such concerns may relate to: college adjustment, emotional health, relationships, parenting, sexual identity, test anxiety, finances, or legal concerns.
The Student Assistance Program (SAP) services are confidential and provided by New Directions, a Mansfield, Ohio counseling agency.
Eligibility
Persons making use of these services must be students currently enrolled in North Central State College credit classes.
Fees
SAP services are provided free of charge to currently enrolled students. Some limitations may apply to certain services or number of sessions for services.

Local Mental Health Services
These local agencies are available to help students with various mental health issues: stress, depression, suicidal thoughts, substance abuse and emotional trauma. Some services are free to NC State students.
Crisis Text Line
Ohio is making it easier for individuals who are experiencing a stressful situation to find immediate help 24/7 with the launch of a free, confidential statewide Crisis Text Line. Any Ohio resident who needs help coping with a crisis can now text the keyword “4hope” to 741741 to be connected to a trained crisis counselor. These counselors can provide a personal response and information on a range of issues including suicidal thoughts, bullying, depression, self-harm, and more. The specialist helps the user stay safe and healthy with effective secure support.
