Surgical Technology

Students who complete the program are eligible to be certified by the AST as a Surgical Technician. The program emphasizes the role and responsibility of the surgical technologist in effective communication, legal, ethical, and moral aspects of care, preparation of the patient for surgery, preparation of the OR for surgery, aseptic techniques, patient care procedures, environmental safety, and supply/equipment preparation and use.

North Central State College partners with EHOVE School of Surgical Technology to provide this medical certification. This certificate can be applied towards a Health Services Technology Associate Degree.

The Surgical Technology Program is held at EHOVE School of Surgical Technology as a FLEX program. Therefore, all classes are not held during the regular school calendar.

Surgical Technology Certification Training Courses

These classes are flex classes and do not follow the regular semester schedule.

  • SURG1030 – Fundamentals of Surgical Technology
  • SURG1050 – Surgical Technology Anatomy and Physiology
  • SURG1070 – Surgical Technology Procedures
