Specialized Support Services

Our office of Specialized Support Services (Disability Services) works to provide online students with documented disabilities an equal opportunity for academic success. We are dedicated to providing services and accommodations to these students in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and any other applicable regulations.

Referral Process
Prospective or current students who either have one or more documented disabilities or would like to learn more about the Office of Specialized Support Services, are encouraged to contact us at least 3 to 4 weeks before classes begin to discuss and, if appropriate, start the intake process. Depending on the potential need, it may take this long to provide the appropriate accommodation.

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for services through the Office of Specialized Support Services you must be a current student and have documentation from a licensed professional that:

  • Is no more than 5 years old
  • States the nature of the disability, and
  • Clearly describes the kinds of accommodation recommended by the licensed professional.

Supplying the above information as well as having an initial interview and completion of paperwork are required. Students may come to our campus or (if appropriate) utilize Zoom, a web conferencing tool for the intake interview. Feel free to call or email us to get started.
