DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, February 19\, 7:000-8:30 pm\, 164 Fallerius Hall \nThe National Society of Leadership and Success is pleased to announce the first guest speaker for the Spring 2019 speaker broadcast season. Dr. Drew Pinsky\, known to television and radio audiences for over 30 years as Dr. Drew\, is a medical doctor\, addiction expert and best-selling author. He hosted the nationally syndicated radio show Loveline where he took calls from listeners and answered questions about adolescent and young adults health and relationship topics for over 32 years. Loveline was a nightly television show on MTV from 1996 – 2000. He also starred in the hit reality series Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew on VH1 which chronicled the struggle for sobriety and the cycle of addictive disorders of a group of celebrities. A much sought after guest on the talk show and news circuits\, Dr. Drew has made many appearances on Ellen\, Oprah\, Rachael Ray\, The View\, Dr. Oz\, Steve Harvey Show\, Jimmy Kimmel Live\, Good Morning America\, the Today Show\, CNN and the Fox News Channel. He received his undergraduate degree from Amherst College and his M.D. from the University of Southern California\, School of Medicine. He has been appointed to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and is a member of the board for the Prostate Cancer Foundation. In July of 2015\, Jesus was chosen to participate in the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal as part of Jeff Ross’s “ROAST MASTER’S INVITATIONAL”\, and in the summer of 2016 he was selected to be a NEW FACE for at the Just For Laughs Festival. DESCRIPTION:All are encouraged to attend the program THE “S” WORD: ONE WORD. MANY LIVES. The program consists of a one and half hour documentary followed by a half hour discussion. In the documentary\, a suicide attempt survivor is on a mission to find fellow survivors and to document their stories of courage\, insight\, and humor. Along the way\, she discovers a rising national movement transforming personal struggles into action.​

SUMMARY:"Know Your  Role: Social Media and the Bystander"
DESCRIPTION:​This installation of our ​Know Your Power ​series will feature a discussion about the responsibilities bystanders have in the world of social media and ways we can use social media to take a stand against sexual assault and domestic violence. The program is hosted by the Campus Sexual Assault Advocate. Two sessions will be held. The first session will be held from 12:30-1:30 pm in 229 Riedl Hall. The second session will be held from 5:00-6:00 pm in 092 Fallerius. Both sessions are open to NC State and The Ohio State University at Mansfield campuses.
